How to stop late night cravings with Mint

If you are like so many dieters trying to figure out how to stop late night cravings, which is also known as midnight snacks it is best to stick with real science. The fact of the matter is that most diets are simply not worth your time, we are speaking from a true scientific perspective; there is not one commercial popular diet that has ever been scientifically shown to reduce the nasty inflammatory body fat. When seeking how to stop late night cravings and how to really lose weight you must stick with real science not commercial diets.

The failure of commercial diets

We see the commercials all the time, the popular commercial name brand diets wit rich actors telling you how much weight you can lose, avoid all commercial name brand diets and stick with real science.  Science shows that food cravings originate in the brain and they are hard to reduce, the more you diet the stronger the urges get, this is why you need real science for real weight loss not celebrity diets.

Late night cravings are what ruin so many people who are trying to lose weight, you may eat well all day and then when the evenings come you over indulge in something like potato chips or other sweet snacks; it is the powerful brain hormones which demand these foods.

One of the ways to curb the craving is with mint, yes, peppermint or mint leaves. According to researchers the smell of mint causes the brain to reduce its cravings for snacks.

Bryan Raudenbush, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia — found that the smell of mint caused the brain demand for snacks (food cravings) to become reduced. Raudenbush's research team found that inhaling a peppermint scent helps give you the advantage you need to sidestep afternoon munchies. In Raudenbush's preliminary research, subjects who sniffed mint periodically throughout the day ate 3,000 fewer calories over the course of the week. (That's almost a pound!)

A powerful way to use mint is to make a hot chocolate drink (dark chocolate is best) and then put a strong pure peppermint mint tea bag in the hot chocolate. You can also add real mint leaves to your favorite hot drink (even coffee) and it will help calm down late night cravings.  Drink and smell it often until the brain cravings are reduced.

*Never deny your self a snack if you want it, the brain urges will only get stronger for the snack. Always enjoy the snack but use something like mint leaves to help less how much you eat*

Mint is one way to lessen late night craving but it is not enough to really lose significant weight for that we must once again turn to science.

How to really lose weight from science

When European researchers used a specialized diabetes inspired diet on overweight people without diabetes an amazing thing occurred, the inflammatory body-fat was reversed and all lost significant body weight.
